Position: Security System Technician
Job Type: On-Call
This position is a part time, on-call position that will respond to project based work.
Reports to the Manager, Security Systems and Integration and will primarily be responsible to install and trouble-shoot security system components in residential and commercial settings. The Security Systems Technician must demonstrate an aptitude for learning new technologies, must work systematically and efficiently, and must demonstrate a high level of integrity and work ethic.
Knowledge in:
Security assessments | Analog & IP security cameras | Intercom and telephone entry systems | Electrified gate operators | Automated pedestrian door operators | Intrusion systems
TQ certification is an advantage but not a must as training and supervision will be provided.
Job Requirements
· 1-3 years of work experience as a Security Technician or experience in a related field
· Valid driver's licence with a suitable driving record. Jobs sites will vary per project
· Valid auto insurance
· Must be willing to provide a Criminal Background Check
· Degree or diploma in a security related field is considered an asset
· Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical consumers
· High level of integrity and work ethic
· Drivers License required and expected to drive to and from work locations
· Flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holiday
· Operation of laptop computer and cell phone
